Toronto in 1943

Here’s some footage of Toronto in 1943, courtesy of YouTube, Periscope Films, and the blogTO web site:

Some of the landmarks are recognizable, such as the Royal York Hotel, Union Station, and Queen’s Park. That’s quite startling, given that this video is over 70 years old.

The other thing that I noticed was that there were more women than men in many shots. Presumably, this is because many of the men were off fighting the war.
