Early 1970s Songs #3: “How Do You Do?” by Mouth and MacNeal

The pop charts were different in the early 1970s. All sorts of unusual and interesting songs got airplay. Here’s something from Holland in 1972:

The guy lying down on the bar is what makes this video interesting for me. Na na na na!

Mouth and MacNeal were Willem “Big Mouth” Duyn and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van’t Spijker). This song sold over a million copies in the United States in 1972, making it to #8 in the Billboard charts. This was one of a whole bunch of Dutch songs that made the charts in the early 1970s – more to come!
